Ann Allardyce Baclasky
Ann Allardyce Baclasky, 79, of Avoca, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016, at Regional Hospital of Scranton. She was born in Avoca on June 13, 1937, and was the daughter of the late James and Margaret "Peg" (Clifford) Allardyce. Ann was a member of Queen of the Apostles Parish Church, Avoca. She was a graduate of Avoca High School and Lackawanna Business College. Ann was employed by Bell Telephone and retired from Avoca borough, where she served as secretary for several years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, William "Bucky" Baclasky, on May 14, 2015; and her son, Jimmy. She is survived by her children, William and wife, Louise Baclasky, Somers Point, N.J.; Cathy and husband, Joseph Renzi, Old Forge; Janice and husband, Stan Waleski; Judy and Gus Turonis; Mark Baclasky, Michael and wife, Joleen Baclasky, all of Avoca; and Marybeth and husband, Jason Dongas, Wilkes-Barre. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Krista and husband, Dino Galella, Mountaintop; Matthew and wife, Kelsey Renzi, Old Forge; John Patrick, Elizabeth and Hannah Waleski, Gus and Kyle Turonis, Michael and Morgan Baclasky, all of Avoca; Joey Baclasky, Somers Point; and Max Dongas, Wilkes-Barre; three great-grandchildren, Chase and Bo Galella, Mountaintop; and Adeline Renzi, Old Forge. Also surviving are her brothers, Gerald and wife, Helen "Nellie" Allardyce, Avoca; and James and wife, Nancy Allardyce, Avoca; and several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Oct. 18, at 10 a.m. at Queen of the Apostles Church, Hawthorne Street, Avoca, by Father Philllip Sladicka. Friends and family are asked to go directly to the church, there will be no procession from the funeral home. Friends may call Monday, Oct. 17, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St. Interment will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery, Avoca.
