In memory of
JOHNSON, Gerhard "Marty" Age 97, of Dayton, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Dayton VA Victory Ridge Hospice. Marty was a proud veteran of WWII. He stormed the beaches of Normandy on D-Day and later received a Jubilee of Liberty Medal from France. Marty also participated in the Battle of the Bulge. Marty retired from Rubicon Cadillac where he was an auto mechanic and he was a member of VFW Post 6560 and Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ora; sisters, Ruth and Elsie; brothers, Ingvald and John. Marty is survived by his brother, Robert Johnson; nieces, Karen McClure and Sharon Williams; nephew, Dan McClure, and a host of other nieces and nephews and many friends. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, October 17, 2016 at Reis Legacy Center Meyer-Boehmer Funeral Home, 820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd., Centerville (Schlientz & Moore). Family will greet friends at 10:00 am until time of service on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Dodsonville Cemetery. Special thanks to the staff at Laurelwood Assisted Living, Sycamore Hospital, and Dayton VA for their loving care.
