Charles Richard "(Chuck)" Dohrn
Dohrn, Charles Richard (Chuck) Our beloved brother and father, Charles (Chuck) Richard Dohrn, 96, passed away October 4, 2016 in Payson, Arizona. Chuck served in England as a radio operator in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Chuck was a developer/builder/real estate broker for more than 50 years in Iowa, Texas, Colorado and Arizona. He was a founding member of the Bettendorf, Iowa, Rotary Club. He was a lifelong Mason and a Kaaba Shriner. He served as President of the Davenport, Iowa, Homebuilder's Association, and contributed frequently and generously to community causes. He devoted time and energy over 20 years to assisting in his son Rick's business, Maverick Equipment, based in Phoenix. Preceded in death by his wife, Irma, of 72 years in 2013, his legacy of Christian love will be carried on by his brother Daniel Dohrn (Deerfield Beach, FL); his daughter Diane (Hayes) Orender (Akron, OH); his son Rick (Nancy) Dohrn (Phoenix); granddaughters Jillian and Keely; as well as many nieces and nephews. Chuck's life, and that of his wife, will be celebrated in a private memorial later this year.
