Hassill was born on July 31, 1929 and passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2016. Hassill was a resident of Statesville, North Carolina at the time of his passing. He served his country in the U. S. Army. He was married to Dorothy. Services celebrating life will be held at 11:00 Tuesday October 18 2016 at Christ Church at 2172 Wilkesboro Hwy in Statesville Rev. Chip McGee Rev. Olin Isenhour and Rev Eric Morhpis officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery with full military rites presented by the Iredell County Veterans Council Burial Detail. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the West Iredell Ruritan Club and the West Iredell Volunteer Fire Dept. The family will receive friends on Sunday October 16 2016 at Nicholson Funeral Home from 5:30 to 8:00 P.M. and at other times will be assembled at the residence.
