George "Marlin" Zent
GEORGE MARLIN ZENT January 11, 1941 ~ October 2, 2016 "Many people looked up to Marlin as a second father or a brother." George Marlin Zent, 75, passed away on Oct. 2, 2016 in his Vancouver, WA home. He was born Jan. 11, 1941 to George and Bertha Zent in Burns, OR. Marlin was the owner of Zent Drilling, the family business that his father started in 1945. He was a pool player. Marlin played in several leagues and was awarded many sportsmanship trophy's. He enjoyed racing drag boats with his sons and friends. Marlin had a fantastic garden that he tended. Everyone looked forward to his pickled beans, the recipe handed from his mother. Marlin is survived by his sons, Mike and Mark (Carrie); brother, Carl; sisters, Sharron and Marge; grandchildren, Sarah and Chad; as well as many nieces, nephews, in-laws, out-laws, and friends from many communities. He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Mary. There will be a Celebration of Life service on Sat., Oct. 22 at the Clark County Event Center, Exhibition Hall "B", from 1-5 p.m. Donations may be made to the Free Clinic of SW Washington and Project Access on his behalf.
