Potolicchio, Margaret M. Margaret M. Potolicchio, a lifelong Stamford resident passed away peacefully, while sleeping, at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, October 14, 2016, just shy of her 98th birthday on October 28 th. She was born in Stamford to the late Emilio and Maria Contralto Frano. She worked as a seamstress in the old Custom Canvas Co., and later at Audio Tape until her retirement. A simple woman who loved her family, cooking Italian specialties, as well as traveling in the US, Canada, Europe and Africa. Her infectious smile would light up a room and bring warm feelings of love to anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Margaret is survived by her loving daughter June A. Wood of Stamford, three loving sons, Dr. Samuel Potolicchio and his wife Pamela of Bethesda, MD, Kenneth Potolicchio and William Potolicchio both of Stamford, a loving sister Grace Romanos of Gilroy, CA, a brother in law Paul Potolicchio and his wife Diane of Stamford, as well as seven grandchildren, Elizabeth A. Wood, Jennifer M. Wood Heslin and her husband Michael, Samuel Potolicchio III, Blake Potolicchio and his wife Nikki, Michael Potolicchio, Caroline Potolicchio, Matthew Potolicchio and one great grandchild Brayden James Potolicchio, along with several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Samuel J. Potolicchio, six brothers Rocco, William, Joseph, Anthony, Pasquale and Emilio Frano. A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford at 9:40 AM on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM at The Basilica of St. John the Evangelist RC Church, 279 Atlantic Street, Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John's RC Cemetery, Darien. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, October 17, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the Potolicchio family requests that donations be made in Margaret's memory to The Basilica of St. John the Evangelist RC Church, 279 Atlanti Street, Stamford, CT 06901 or to the charity of one's choice.
