James E. "Jim" Rector
James E. (Jim) Rector, 83, of Talbott, passed away Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016 at Jefferson City Health and Rehab following an extended illness. He was of the Baptist Faith and a retired truck driver from Roadway Express with 31 years of service. Member of Tate Springs Masonic Lodge # 438. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite and a Shriner. He was preceded in death by daughter, Jana Rector; parents, John and Ethel Rector; and sister, Jenny Massey. He is survived by loving wife of 40 years, Carolyn F. Rector; sons, James (Pete) Rector, Chris and Frank Rector all of Knoxville; daughter, Shannon Claxton of Knoxville; step-son, Alan McNish of Talbott; step-daughter, Debra Hurst of Jefferson City; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; brother, John Rector; and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. prior to a Masonic service to be held at 7 p.m. by Tate Springs Masonic Lodge #438. Family and friends will gather at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18 at Westview Cemetery for an 11 a.m. graveside interment service. Arrangement by Farrar Funeral Home, Jefferson City.
