Robert M. Prather
Robert M. Prather passed away Friday, October 14, 2016 at the age of 83, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Tippah County, MS. He was a veteran of the US Army and served in the Korean War. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Peggy Prather, his only daughter, Jill Prather, and his two grandsons; Nicholas and Brandon Cannella. He was preceded in death by his parents, William A. and Lottye Sides Prather. He was remembered most for his radio career with WHBQ in Memphis, TN, where he was friends with Elvis and Johnny Cash, and most recently at WYNK for 40 years with the company. He also served with EBR Sheriffs office as a deputy. Visitation will be Monday, October 17, 2016 at Rabenhorst Funeral Home 11000 Florida Blvd. from 5:00 to 9:00 pm. Visitation will resume Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 am until services at 1:00 pm conducted by Dr. B. G. Buchanan with burial to follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. The Pall Bearers are Bob Courtney, JD Hogg, Bill Hosington, Kennel Teasley and his grandchildren Nicholas and Brandon Cannella.
