Florence Gretchen Iehle Worsley, 95, of Hellertown, died peacefully in her sleep Sunday, September 25, 2016. Her husband of 62 years, John Carl Wilson Worsley, Sr., DDS, died March 14, 2006. Born in Riegelsville, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Franklin Bruce and Edna Elizabeth (Andrews) Iehle. A 1939 graduate of Easton High School, Gretchen was Girls Tennis Champion in 1938 and 1939. In 1940, she graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Oral Hygiene, where she was a member of Sigma Phi Alpha National Dental Hygiene Honor Society. Gretchen was employed as a dental hygienist from 1941-1944 in the office of Norvin A. Worsley, DDS. A member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Bethlehem, she was a 70+year member of Delaware Chapter Order of the Eastern Star #50, Phillipsburg, NJ and a 60+year member of the Bethlehem Garden Club. Gretchen was Past Vice President of Hellertown Women's Club, Past President of the Lehigh Valley Dental Society Auxiliary, former YWCA of Bethlehem Board Member, Vasa Scandinavian Cultural Society Charter Member of Viking Lodge #735, Muhlenberg Medical Center Society, Reserve Officers' Association of America (MOAA) Auxiliary Club and a Charter Member of the Pennsylvania Voter's Hall of Fame. Gretchen enjoyed playing bridge, gardening and entertaining friends and family. She enjoyed years of sunshine in Beach Haven, NJ and in later years spent winters with her daughters in Florida. Survivors: Children, Barbara Gretchen Morgan, DMD (James) of Odessa, FL, Sally Ann Elizabeth Tauber, RDH (Dr. Donald) of Sparta, NJ and Sarasota, FL, John C.W. Worsley, Jr., DMD (Judith) of Bethlehem, PA and Jane Louise Scovanner, RDH (Dennis) of Bradenton, FL; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, E. Wilhelmina (Iehle) Peterson, RDH of Wisconsin Rapids, WI. She was predeceased by a sister, M. Elizabeth (Iehle) Snyder, in 1984, and a brother, Franklin Bruce Iehle, Jr., in infancy. Services: Visitation will be held from 9-10 a.m. Saturday, October 22, in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Packer Avenue and Vine Street, Bethlehem, followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
