Deane Lundbeck Born: February 4, 1926 Died: October 12, 2016 Deane Lundbeck, 90, died Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Heritage Woods, DeKalb, surrounded by family, friends, and his sweet Roxie, his "palsy walsy". He was born on February 4, 1926, son of Oscar and Irene (Nelson) Lundbeck, in Pontiac, MI. He married Bette Thomas on September 11, 1948 in Pontiac. Deane served in the United States Navy, was a volunteer fireman in Michigan, belonged to the DeKalb County Sheriff's Auxillary, was a founding member of the Sycamore Music Boosters, sang with a barbershop chorus, was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved attending DeKalb Municipal Band concerts. His faithful companion, Roxanne, was the joy of his last years. Survivors include his children, Kirk (Diane) Lundbeck of Sycamore, IL and Kristine (Don) Allison of Watkinsville, GA; grandchildren, Stella (Rod) Robinson, Crystal (Darren) Howe, James Peterson, Jason Lundbeck, and Lauren Lundbeck; great-grandchild, Jeremy James Howe; and dog Roxanne. Preceded in death by his wife, Bette; and sister, Joyce Caughill. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 17, 2016 at Salem Lutheran Church, 1145 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, IL. A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, Sunday, October 16, 2016, at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Sycamore Music Boosters and the Palmer Family Music Education Scholarship Fund.
