In memory of
Margaret Gearhart April 17, 1918 - October 13, 2016 Margaret (Zwiaska) Gearhart, 98, passed away on Thursday morning, October 13, 2016 from natural causes. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Margaret was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota to parents Vincent and Antonia Zwiaska in 1918. She and her twin brother were the 5th and 6th children of eight born in the Zwiaska home (four boys and four girls). Margaret's parents emigrated to America as children from Poland in the late 19th century. Her parents were married in 1903, and from this union came the eight children. In 1940, at age twenty-two, Margaret married Charles Gearhart. A year later, her first of three daughters, Judy Johnson was born. After Judy, Nancy and Trudy were born. Margaret and "Charlie" were married for seventy-one years. In 1952, the Gearharts moved from Minnesota to California where Charlie established a successful construction company. They ran the business together while raising their three daughters. They were also very active in their church, Cambrian Park Church of the Nazarene. In 1966 Charlie became very ill and had to turn the business over to Margaret to run by herself. She managed it very successfully until it was eventually sold and they retired to Idaho to be closer to family. After moving to Idaho, Charlie was restored to health. They began traveling in their motor home. They were very active in Good Sam Clubs and were able to travel to every state in the union. The fellowship they enjoyed, and the extended trips they took were some of their happiest memories together. Another enjoyable thing, for Margaret were her many collectables. She amassed a large collection of Hummels and other valuable treasures she gathered over the years. Margaret and Charlie were very active members of the First Church of the Nazarene in Nampa, and valued their community relationships. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her seven brothers and sisters, her husband of 71 years, Charlie, and her oldest daughter, Judy Johnson. She leaves behind her two daughters, Nancy Smee and Trudy Shannon, her son-in-law, Holland Johnson, her grandchildren, Craig (and Tracy) Johnson, Randy Johnson, Marci (and Rob) Kielman, Adam (and Denise) Smee, Steven Schutte, and Nichole Schutte, as well as six great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Encompass Home Health & Hospice for their loving care and support. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel where an online guest book is available at www.nampafuneralhome.com .
