Robert Lawrence "Bob" Keator
Robert "Bob" Lawrence Keator October 18, 1937 ~ October 1, 2016 Carmel Valley, CA Bob Keator, a long time resident of Carmel Valley passed away at his home with his daughter by his side. Bob was born in Cannon City, CO to James (Cal) Keator and Ruby Vallee Scriven. After moving to Pacific Grove in his youth, he continued to spend many happy summers at his family's ranch in Colorado. He attended Pacific Grove High, where he made many life-long friendships. After graduating, he joined the Air Force, which led to him beginning his training as an electrician and meeting his future wife (the Chaplin's daughter) Jannette Morse. They were married in 1963 and settled on the Monterey Peninsula. After greeting their children Matthew in 1965 & Jennifer in 1967, they made their way out to Carmel Valley. Bob was a horseman since his youth and enjoyed being part of horse clubs and participating in parades and other events with his beloved horse Major. Bob took great pride in the work he did for Village Electric for over 30 years. In his later years, he took on the life of a traveler and adventurer. Visiting family and friends in Alaska, Minnesota and other places around the world, he was always up for a new experience. Bob was preceded in death by his wife Jan, his son Matthew and his parents, Cal & Ruby. He is survived by his daughter Jennifer (Steve) and their children Julian and Ethan; Matthew's children Alexis and Spencer; his brother Jim Keator and many beloved nieces and nephews.
