In memory of
Edward James Thompson, 79, fell asleep in death Wednesday afternoon, October 12, 2016, at Central Continuing Care. Mr. Thompson was born June 20, 1937, in Sylacauga, AL, to the late Article and Willie Pearl Griffin Thompson. A congregation elder and full-time minister with the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, he was a retiree of Consumer's Energy and a Vietnam veteran. He is survived by his wife, Valinda Donnell McCloud Thompson; three daughters, two sons-in-law, and a son, Andrea and Donald Richardson of El Paso, TX, Ursula Jones of Atlanta, GA, Marshay and Christopher Williams of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Terrell Collins of Sterling Heights, MI; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Gwendolyn Turner of Silver Springs, MD. In addition to his parents, Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by a grandson, Walter Terry. A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 16, 2016, at 7:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses ( JW.org ), with speaker Richard Zamani.
