Gary Turner July 21, 1933 - October 7, 2016 Dallas - Gary Turner, 83, passed away peacefully on Oct. 7, 2016 after a long battle with Alzheimers. He was born July 21, 1933, in Pasadena, California, to Sarah Elizabeth and Ivan Turner. After serving in the Army during the Korean War, he married Nona Colwell on March 7, 1957. They moved their family to Oregon in 1969. Gary was a carpenter by trade, and was happiest working outside on their wooded property in the country. He was a role model and mentor for many and loved for his sense of humor. Gary was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Nona; four daughters, Lori, Dena, Kary, and Gail, their respective spouses and partners; eight grandchildren; and a growing number of great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held at Pressed Coffee & Wine Bar in Dallas on Oct. 23 at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Gary Turner to the Oregon Veterans Home in Lebanon, Oregon.
