Rodolfo Mendoza Soriano 1931 - 2016 Rodolfo (Rudy) Mendoza Soriano, 85, passed away October 10, 2016, with his daughter by his side in Pensacola, Fla. There will be a visitation at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Monday 10/17/2016. Family @ 11 am Friends @ 12pm til 2pm Service @ 2pm, followed by a reception Rudy was born in the Philippines and wrote a letter to the President of the USA, asking to come to America and serve in the Navy. He proudly served 30 yrs., retired and continued to serve for 20 yrs as a civilian. He was proud to be an American. He founded the Filipino-American club in Pensacola and was its first president. He was always smiling and doing for others. He didn't know a stranger. Even in declining health, he would always want to make others around him smile. It made him happy. He loved to cook and everyone loved "his" eggrolls. He always presented himself well dressed and with class. He will be missed by all that knew him. He is survived by his wife, Lourdes Soriano, his son Richard Soriano and his wife Veronica Brewington, his daughter Deana, sons Rody Soriano and Dan Soriano. His grandchildren Ashley, Nicole, Witalu, Danielle, Dakota and Warren. His Great grandchildren Lucien, Aurora, Jason and Caleb. His sister-in-law, Lydia Guino. His nieces, Barbara Gabric (Ralph) and their two children, Ralphie Gabric and Lylie Gabric and Maria Babilon (John). Also, his god children and many friends that will miss him dearly. At his request, instead of flowers, a donation be made in his name to The Girls or Boys club in his name. He loved children.
