ATLANTA, Ga. — Kevin Reece Blalock, 50, passed away after complications from a kidney and pancreas transplant at Emory Hospital on Oct. 2, 2016. Kevin was born in Elizabethtown, North Carolina on December 1, 1965. He graduated from Scotland High School, class of 1984, and attended UNC Pembroke. Kevin worked for several large printing facilities in North Carolina as a Plant Manager and printing specialist. He was a talented artist, music enthusiast, and grill master. Kevin's true love was his wife and soul mate of 25 years, Liz Blalock, as well as his two children, Hailey Blalock and Reece Blalock of the home. His two labrador retrievers were also his constant companions. Kevin was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Eileen Blalock. He is survived by his father Buddy Blalock, brother, David Blalock who reside in Laurinburg, and other extended family members. Kevin will be dearly missed by his family and friends he touched with his gentle spirit and kind heart. A memorial service to celebrate his life is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 16, 3 p.m., at the Feed and Seed Church in Fletcher, North Carolina. In lieu of flowers, a tragedy fund to assist in caring for their children has been established at the State Employees Credit Union 216 Hendersonville Road, Arden, NC 28704, in the name of Elizabeth Blalock. A "Go Fund Me" account is also currently active by Maggie Matthews for the Blalock's and can be located through Facebook.
