JOSEPHINE TRICHILO Josephine passed away on Sunday October 2, 2016. She was born in Oakland, California, April 13, 1921, the daughter of Adolph and Marianna Milanese. Josephine graduated from Oakland Tech High in 1938 and U.C. Berkeley in 1942. She then worked for the U.S. Department of Employment. Josephine and her husband Ted Trichilo were married in 1947 in Oakland, CA where they lived for three years. In 1950 they acquired Pem's Drug Store and moved to Loleta, CA with their son Paul. After the purchase of Brown's Drug store, the family, now including a daughter Diana and son Teddy, moved to Fortuna in 1960. In Fortuna, Josephine was a member of the Monday Club, Book Club, and was a supporter of the library. In 1965, she was president of the PTC for St Joseph Elementary, and was a charter member of the Eureka Docent Society. She enjoyed pottery at CR, and belonged to the League of Women Voters, Sierra Club, and Audubon Society. She was also a Pink Lady at Redwood Memorial Hospital. Josephine was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church of Loleta for nearly fifty years. Josephine enjoyed playing bridge; and delighted in preparing Italian Cuisine for old and new friends. Her Italian heritage was well represented when she won the Humboldt Beacon's "Taste of the Valley" Award in 1995. Josephine is survived by her husband Theodore, daughter Diana, and son Paul. A small graveside memorial was held at St. Bernard's Cemetery in Eureka, officiated by Father Michael Cloney. Please sign the guestbook at www.times-standard.com
