BALDWIN, JOAN P. (PUGSLEY) 89, beloved wife of the late James L. Baldwin, died Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at the Brudnick Center for Living in Peabody, MA. Born in Biddeford, ME, she was the daughter of the late Harold W. and Mildred E. (Seavey) Pugsley. She moved to Providence, RI at the age of sixteen and graduated from Hope High School in Providence. A resident of Cranston, RI for over sixty years, she was a member of the Woodridge United Church of Christ in Cranston. Mrs. Baldwin dedicated her life to raising her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend who will be missed by all who knew her. Surviving her are two daughters, Nancy B. Koch of Hamilton and Jane S. Baldwin of Medford, two grandchildren, Whitman B. Koch of Washington D.C. and Victoria B. Koch of Boston. A memorial service will be held at the Woodridge Congregational United Church of Christ, 30 Jackson Road, Cranston, Monday, October 17, 2016 at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the James Baldwin Scholarship Fund, University of Rhode Island Foundation, P.O. Box 1700, Kingston, RI 02881.
