In memory of
Jeffrey W. Miller
Jeffrey Weston Miller, 53, a lifelong resi- dent of Brookline, died Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Blueberry Hill Healthcare in Beverly after a battle with lung cancer. Born on July 15, 1963, a son of Cecil Wentworth and Anne (Weston) (Reading) Miller, Jeff graduated from Brookline High School in 1982. While seeking a career, Jeff studied at Full Sail Recording Studios, Curry College, the Connecticut School of Broadcasting, and worked as an intern at WBCN radio in Boston. In those years, he also began a struggle with mental illness and schizophrenia that would dominate the rest of his life. A self-taught photographer, Jeff was especially proud that his night-time portrait of the Eiffel Tower in Paris hung for years in the entry of the former Caf DuBarry restaurant on Newbury Street, and that he sold a framed photograph of an Italian Maserati he had taken in Italy. He greatly enjoyed music, especially 70s, 80s and 90s rock, and working on classic muscle cars with his circle of friends. He later established a pirate radio station to practice broadcasting, from a sound studio he built at the family home. Jeff leaves three brothers: John W. Reading of Brookline, William R. Miller and his wife Barbara of Marblehead, and Bradford A. Miller of Lexington. He was a caring Uncle Jeff to Meredith M. Thompson, her husband Kevin Thompson and their son William of Arlington, Melissa Miller of Chicago, Tyson Miller of Marblehead, and Eliza and Kira Miller of Lexington. He was predeceased by his sister in law, Amy C. Miller, of Lexington. A memorial service will be held at the familys convenience, details of which will be published at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Brookline Community Mental Health Center, 41 Garrison Road, Brookline MA 02445. Interment will be private.
