Rosemary M. Sutton Summerville - Rosemary Moneymaker Sutton, 92, of Summerville, SC passed away on October 10, 2016. She was the widow of Richard F. "Dick" Sutton. Rosemary was born in Clifton Forge, VA on June 2, 1924. Her father gave her the nickname of "Junebug." She was the youngest of four and growing up on the Cowpasture River during the depression and learning the lesson of sharing and giving a charismatic quality that lasted all of her life. Meeting her husband and soulmate, Dick at VPI, they were married March 17, 1946. After graduate school at Duke they moved to Summerville. She has three surviving children, Richard A. "Rick" Sutton (Brenda), Barbara Wilson (Danny) and Rebecca K. "Becky" Harris (Bucky); six grandchildren, Richard James "Jamie" Sutton (Robyn), Sonya Sanders (Johnny), Wendy Joiner, Daniel Wilson (Brandi), Ashley Wrye, Cammie Harris (Bryson), ten great-grandchildren and one on the way. Rosemary was always involved. She was the 1st secretary of the Summerville Chamber of Commerce, Brownie Scout Leader, Girl Scout Leader, Cub Scout Leader. In addition, she was certified American Red Cross, Certified Swim instructor, she participated in plays, member of the Garden Club, noon Lions Club, taught square dancing and bridge. She was a founding member of the Flowertown Festival. Rosemary was a member of Summerville Presbyterian Church since 1950. She served on every committee at one time or another, including serving as Deacon and Elder. Knowing Rosemary, you never had to wonder what she was thinking. As the first female sales agent for Westvaco Development she earned many rewards. She finished her working career at Danken Realty. Rosemary enjoyed playing bridge, tennis, gardening, reading and traveling in US and Europe were many of the things she enjoyed. Her bucket list always had new additions. Rosemary will be missed by her family and friends. The celebration of her life will be held at Summerville Presbyterian Church on Saturday, October 15, 2015 at 2 PM with a reception following the service.
