William Koger Summers Jr.
Mr. William Koger "W.K." Summers Jr., 93, Cedar Bluff, passed away Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016, at his residence. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Cedar Bluff First United Methodist Church with Dr. George Cobb, the Rev. Tim Kendrick and Dr. Don Wright officiating. Burial is in the Cedar Bluff Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday at the Perry Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Cedar Bluff First United Methodist Church or the family will accept flowers. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Cobia Summers; daughters, Betty (Paul) McWhorter and Kathy Hampton, Cedar Bluff; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Summers was a native of Vincent, the son of the late William Koger and Nola Ligon Summers Sr., was a veteran of WWII and was a retired engineer with Anniston Army Depot. He was a member of the Cedar Bluff First United Methodist Church. Pallbearers include Jonathan McWhorter, Josh Hampton, Jamie Hampton, Josh Summerford, Terry Hall, Myron Wilson, Dan Baker, Randy Cobia, Tom Neal, Jerry Cobia and Calvin Miller.
