In memory of
Andrew “Drew” Papillon
RACINE - Andrew Logan Papillon met his Savior on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 and is now worshipping Him face to face forevermore. This was his greatest desire, because as Drew would say, “The worst thing that can happen to me is the best thing that can happen to me.” Drew was born on June 3, 1980 to Stephen and Linda Papillon in Redmond, Washington. Most of his childhood was spent in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Drew attended Alert Academy, becoming a certified paramedic, graduated from Marquette University with a Bachelor’s in Nursing, and Faith Bible Seminary with a Masters in Divinity. Drew worked as an RN in the ER at St. Luke’s South Shore in Cudahy and a school nurse for Racine Unified School District. He was loved by so many with whom he worked. Drew married the love of his life, Amy Elizabeth Black, on September 10, 2005. God blessed them with two precious sons, Judah Andrew Kyrie, born July 8, 2011, and Tovi Logan, born April 9, 2014. Three weeks before their first son was born, Drew was diagnosed with brain cancer. In the 5 ½ years since his diagnosis, Drew continued to live filled with joy, strength, and faith in His loving Savior, always giving God the glory. His sons were his joy. He continued his schooling, leading worship, teaching Sunday School at his church, attending men’s Bible studies, mentoring many young men, and competing in triathlons and Ironman races. Drew is survived by his loving and faithful wife, Amy; his sons, Judah, age five and Tovi, age two; his parents, Stephen and Linda; his eight brothers and sisters: Nicole (Christian) Talley, Naomi (Paul) Hensrud, David (Serena) Papillon, Daniel Papillon, Rachel Papillon, Tim (Lydia) Papillon, Bethany (Luke) Temte and Christopher Papillon; his in-laws, Ken and Cynthia Black; brother-in-law, Nathan (Veronica) Black; sister-in-law, Alissa (Isaac) Miller; 16 adoring nieces and nephews; grandmother, Bennie Papillon; aunts, uncles and cousins. A worship service celebrating Drew’s life will be held Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Racine Bible Church (RBC), 12505 Spring St., Sturtevant, WI 53177 with visitation and fellowship after the service. In lieu of flowers, a fund has been established for his sons at Educator’s Credit Union. Please send gifts to RBC payable to “The Drew Papillon Fund”.
