In memory of
Ronald R. Cordray
Ronald R. Cordray 1949-2016 Founder and former CEO of Stark Summit Ambulance passed away Tuesday October 11, 2016 following a valiant two month fight following surgery. He was born in Massillon, Ohio on November 20, 1949 and is preceded in death by his father, Russell on July 30, 1983 and his mother, Dorothy (Bucher) Cordray on April 7, 2016. Survived by sons, Russell and Robert Cordray; daughter, Christine (Scott) Ridgway; step- daughters, Chanell (Kelly) Alazaus, Ashley Shilling; grandchildren Russell (Krystal) and Justin Bouscher, Brook, Emilee, Caiti and Bobby Cordray, Branen Bonk, Zayda Nickels, Kinzley Warner and Fynn Alazaus; and great-grandson, Jayce. He is also survived by ex-wife and friend, Gamie Cordray; her mom, Margarett and sister. Darlene; his favorite sister, Becky (Cordray) Kinty and his "niece" Girlfriend, who really is the cutest dog in the whole world. Ron graduated from Lincoln High School in 1967, which was amazing because he never brought a book home to study and never did his homework from the first grade on. Ron had a real talent for making people laugh even at the most inappropriate times and enjoyed performing stand up comedy at various clubs. But it was his heart of gold that made him become a paramedic - a career he was passionate about for over 30 years. That very special heart rejoiced for lives saved and grieved for lives lost. He will be deeply missed. Cremation has taken place per his wishes. Please join us for an informal gathering on Sunday, October 16, 2016 from 2-6 p.m. to share fond memories and funny stories at the Meyers Lake Ballroom/Calypso Room 3218 Parkway St. NW Canton, OH 44708.
