Brownsville - Amparo Alcocer (Curiel) 88, of Brownsville, Texas devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, entered into eternal rest on October 12, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Alice, Texas on October 6, 1928. She is preceded in death by her husband Pablo Alcocer. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Mary Elizabeth Berry, Carlos (Deborah) Alcocer, Hector (Rene Garzoria) Alcocer, and 1 sister: Hortencia (Guadalupe) Garrocho; 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces. The family will like to give special thanks to Elena Rodriguez and Ofelia Solis. Visitation will be held today, Friday, October 14, 2016 from 12 noon to 9 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. There will be a chapel service held on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016 at 1 p.m. with burial to follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
