Virginia 'Virgie' Giambrone LeBlanc
Virgie was a caring homemaker who enjoyed cooking Italian dishes. She was born on May 17, 1932 in Bayou Goula, La. and passed away at the age of 84 on Thursday, October 13, 2016. Virgie was a former resident of Ferriday and Donaldsonville, La. for many years but returned to her roots in Plaquemine to be near her family. She was a caregiver to her sister, Josie until Josie passed away. Visitation will be at Wilbert Funeral Home in Plaquemine on Sunday, October 16, 2016 from 5pm to 8pm and at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Plaquemine on Monday, October 17, from 8am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am. Interment in Grace Memorial Park. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Emmett Charles LeBlanc of Plaquemine, two daughters and sons in law Sharon (LeBlanc) and David Couvillon of Brusly, Cindy (LeBlanc) and Tom Duenckel of Baton Rouge and son and daughter in law Bryan and Kerry LeBlanc of Prairieville; six grandchildren Meaghen Couvillon Haynie and husband Adam, Garrett Couvillon and wife Kaylin, Jared, Brent and Alex Duenckel, and Britton LeBlanc; four great grandchildren Jonah and Joseph Haynie, Cale Couvillon and Dayne LeBlanc Torres. She was preceded in death by her parents Peter and Virginia Tremont Giambrone; sisters Rosalie Giambrone Pasqua, Catherine Giambrone Peltier, and Josephine Mae Giambrone; brothers Joseph and Samuel Giambrone. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Garrett, Jared, Brent, Alex, Adam and Tom. Special thanks to Verly Polk, Hamah Young and the staff of Our House of Respite.
