David Klinefelter Des Moines David Lloyd Klinefelter, 84, went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 12, 2016, in Des Moines, Iowa, from complications of Alzheimer's. Visitation will be held Monday, October 17, 2016, at 9:30 a.m. at Saylorville Church, 6429 NW 6th Dr., Des Moines. The funeral service will be immediately following the visitation at 11 a.m. also at Saylorville Church. Burial will follow at East Side Cemetery, Estherville, Iowa. David was born on March 28, 1932, in Ruthven, Iowa. He graduated as a sports letterman from Estherville High School. He was united in marriage to Berna Doughty in Estherville on September 16, 1956. David and Berna left a legacy of Christian marriage for many to follow. David has lived and worked in Estherville, Fort Dodge, Chicago, and Des Moines. David worked as a sheet metal journeyman for 35 years. David had a very strong faith in Christ and loved to share the saving news of Jesus. He was a servant member of his church. His greatest joy was investing in his family and grandchildren. Left to cherish David's memory is his wife of 60 years, Berna; daughter, Gloria (Dave) Cardew of Safety Harbor, Florida and their children, Steven (Alexis) Cardew of Clearwater, Florida; Ryan Cardew, and Megan Cardew both of Safety Harbor, Florida; son, Steven (Peggy) Klinefelter of Norwalk, Iowa and their children, Elizabeth (Madison) McLaughlin of Norwalk, Iowa; Joseph Klinefelter,and Benjamin Klinefelter, both of West Des Moines, Iowa; son, Randy (Jenny)Klinefelter of Ankeny, Iowa and their children, Alyssa (Alex) White of Mingo,Iowa; Blake Klinefelter, and Grant Klinefelter, both of Ankeny, Iowa; three great- grandchildren; sisters Barbara Long of Hasting, Minnesota and Virginia (Ronald) Edwards of Galveston, Texas; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding David in Death was his parents, Randall and Vera Klinefelter, and brother-in-law, Bruce Long. Memorial contributions can be directed to Saylorville Church Missions' Endowment Fund.
