Roger Lee Burnett
Roger Lee Burnett 12/9/1941-10/5/2016 Roger was born in Detroit, Mich. on December 9, 1941 and passed away peacefully at his home in Lincoln on October 5, 2016 following a short battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his father, Talmage Burnett. He is survived by his mother, Leota; brother, Jerry and wife Lynn of 51 years. He is also survived by his three children: Janalee (Chris); Heather (Frank) and Candace (Bill.) Roger was a grandfather to Veronica, William, Andrew, Grace, Elizabeth, Nathaniel, Ocean and Vince, whom he deeply loved. Roger started his career in law enforcement with the Lincoln Police Department in 1967. In 1970, he joined the Placer County Sheriff's Office where he served the community as a Deputy Sheriff for 33 years. Because of Roger's duty and honor, the world was a better place. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 22nd at 11 a.m. at The Church of Christ, 5051 Mack Road in Sacramento. A Color Guard Military Service at Sacramento National Cemetery in Dixon will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation (BJALCF.)
