Evelyn Tessin Evelyn Tessin passed away peacefully at home on September 20, 2016. Born Evelyn Fielder on July 26, 1927 in Buffalo, OK. She was predeceased by her loving husband Frank on October 27, 2013. Frank and Evelyn were kindred spirits, partners and the loves of each other's lives. They met in Colorado in July, 1952 while serving in the Air Force. He was a dashing Captain and she was the first commissioned female officer from the State of Oklahoma. After a brief courtship they married on November 29th 1952. Their daughter Kathy was born late the following year. They left the Air Force and relocated first to San Francisco and later to Kentfield where their son Michael was born. They designed and built their Kentfield home with entertaining in mind. It was enjoyed by friends and family alike. Evelyn was super mom to her kids and a surrogate mom and friend to many others. She was Controller for Marin Whistlestop for 19 years and retired when her first grandchild was born. Ev and Frank moved to Novato in 2002, where they enjoyed spending time with their five grandchildren, cooking, entertaining and traveling. They were passionate fans of the 49ers, Warriors and Giants. Ev is survived by son Mike (Maggie) Tessin, their children Angela and Eric; daughter Kathy (John) Cosenza, their children Phil, Emily and Tess. Loving Daughter, Sister, Teacher, Wife, Aunt, Mother, Grandmother, Friend and Neighbor - forever in our hearts - she will be greatly missed and remembered with laughter and a smile. Friends are invited to drop by and share memories at a hosted Open House on October 22nd at her home in Novato. At their request, Frank and Evelyn will have their ashes scattered together on S.F. Bay at a later date.
