QUEEN Bernard J., 87, widower of Ruth Lavaughn Hardbarger Queen, of Lexington, passed away Tue, Oct 11, 2016. He was born Oct 12, 1928 in Delbarton, WV to the late Norman and Dicie Perry Queen. Mr. Queen started Imperial Auto Recovery in 1958. He was a member of Fayette Church of Christ, the Kiwanis Club and Lions Club. He was a Seaman 1st Class in the Navy serving in Okinawa, Japan and the Philippines during WWII. Surviving relatives include two daughters, Dawn (Greg) Powell and Dicie (Brad) Poe; a son, B. Jeff (Patricia) Queen; five grandchildren, Courtney (Bobby) Brassine, Lauren Poe, Phillip Powell, Carrie (Dwight)Hammons and Katie Queen; one great grandchild, Preston Brassine and one on the way, Andrew Brassine and special friend and co-worker, Ron Athey. He was preceded in death by a sister, Bernice McCool. Funeral services will be held 11am Sat at Kerr BrothersHarrodsburg Road. Entombment will follow in the Lexington Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8pm on Fri at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Fayette Church of Christ, 2700 Clays Mill Road, Lexington, KY 40503.
