Edward Leo Henehan Jr.
Edward Leo Henehan Jr., North Scranton, died Monday from complications brought on by alcoholism. Born in Scranton, son of Theresa Henehan and the late Edward Henehan Sr., he was educated in Scranton public schools and employed in various factory jobs throughout his life. Ed was an avid Cowboys and Nebraska football fan, and always quick with a joke. He will be missed by those who knew him. Also surviving are three children, Johnathan and Nichole Banks, and Haley Gatto; five sisters, Catherine Mann, Rome, N.Y.; Theresa Nicholas, Scranton; Susan Henehan, Danville; Helen Henehan, Florida; and Linda Forgione and husband, Chas, Scranton; four brothers, Jerome, Danville; Sean; Martin and wife, Stacy, all of Scranton; and Thomas and wife, Dawn, Falls; nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his niece, Samantha "Sammi" Henehan. The funeral will be Friday at 10:45 a.m. from the McGoff-Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 1401 Capouse Ave., with Mass of Christian Burial at 11 in Mary, Mother of God Parish. Interment, private. Friends may call Friday starting at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Forever Sammi Foundation, 536 Fig St. rear, Apt. 3, Scranton 18505.
