LORRAINE MARCHAND BUCHTA
BUCHTA LORRAINE MARCHAND Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at The Pines of Mt. Lebanon. She was born in Duluth, Minnesota to Robert and Mariane Marchand on April 19, 1920. She was 96. Beloved wife of Herbert M. Buchta; loving mother of four children, Karen Landis of Bath, PA, Alan Buchta of Medford, OR, Roy Buchta of Pittsburgh, PA, and Mark Buchta of Charlotte, NC. She is survived by five grandchildren, Chris Landis, Robin Knight, Matthew Buchta, Jessica and Benjamin Buchta, Madeline and John Buchta; and eight great-grandchildren; as well as her youngest brother, Lloyd Marchand of Newport Beach, CA. She is remembered for living a giving and caring life. After graduating as a Registered Nurse from St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba, she joined the US Army Air Corps during WWII where she met and married Herbert. After the war, she proudly and with dedication worked as an RN at St. Clair Hospital and in retirement, as a volunteer for Mayview State Hospital. Friends will be received 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, October 13, at BEINHAUER FUNERAL HOME, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 14, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Capistran Church. Entombment at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to GYN Carcinosarcoma Research Fund, Massachusetts General Hospital, 125 Nashua Street, Suite 540 Boston, MA. 02114.
