ECRU - Charles Winford Hawkins, 88, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at North Mississippi Medical Center-Tupelo. He was last employed at Sunshine Mills for 15 1/2 years. He enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. He especially loved his children and grandchildren and always looked for opportunities to spend time with them. He loved our creator and the Bible. He was active as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Services will be Friday, October 14, 2016, at 4 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses-Old Airport Road, Pontotoc, Mississippi. Richard Farmer, Minister of Jehovah's Witnesses will officiate. Burial will be in Ecru City Cemetery. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Wilma Hawkins; son, Mike Hawkins; daughter, Debbie Johnson; four grandchildren, Brett, Kara, Christopher and Tyler; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Preceded in death by his parents, Mark and Geneva Hawkins; five brothers and three sisters. Pallbearers will be brothers in the congregation. Visitation will be from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2016, at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home.
