In memory of
Harry K. Bell
went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 11, 2016. He was exactly where he always was, surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren. Harry was born on January 8, 1934 to Robert M. Bell and Genevieve H. Bell in Vincennes, IN, the middle of 5 boys; Jim, Bob, Joe and Steve. The Bell family moved to Owensboro, KY where Harry grew up. He graduated from Davies County High School in Owensboro in 1952. Shortly after graduation, Harry's family moved to Bradenton, FL. Harry briefly attended Stetson College but returned to Bradenton to work in the family's mobile home manufacturing and sales business. In October of 1954, Harry met the love of his life, Jane McGowin. They were married on August 12, 1955 and the love story continued for more that 61 years. Harry and Jane had 6 children: Jenny (David) Cronkhite, Kathi Barnett, Kent (Wanda) Bell, Lori (Mark) Vaughan, Amy (Arlie) Ball, and Rob (Lisa) Bell. They have 19 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren with 5 more on the way. Harry had a passion for missions that began early in his life. He encouraged anyone who wanted to serve the Lord either locally or in foreign countries both financially and in prayer. He made numerous trips for short term missions work all over the world. He was a long time member of the missions board at Calvary Baptist Church, member of the board of directors of World Team and a founding member of Art Yohner Mission Ministry, Inc. He gave generously to missions program at Calvary Baptist and many individual missionaries who crossed his path as they shared the gospel around the world. Harry never met a person he didn't like or consider a friend. He is leaving behind a legacy that is far-reaching around the world and lives on through more than just his family. A Celebration of Life will be held at Calvary Baptist Church on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 2:00 pm. To honor Harry's memory and love of missions, memorial donations may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church Missions Fund.
