Pauline J. Lucas, 93, of Connellsville, died Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at home. She was born March 23, 1916, in Monarch, Pa., a daughter of the late William Derov and Helen Badovinac. She was a member of St. John Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Christian Mothers and and a past member of the Slovak International Club. She was a past employee of the Crawford Tea Room and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew A. Lucas, in 1989. She is survived by her two children, David Lucas and his wife, Lucetta, of Connellsville, and Paula Harvey, of Connellsville; a very special friend, Bud Crouse, of Connellsville; a sister, Maxine Childress and her husband, William, of Huron, Ohio; four grandchildren, Matthew Harvey, of Charlotte, N.C., Drew Harvey, of Connellsville, Lisa Smith and her husband, Waid, of Sebring, Ohio, and Lori Pitruzzella and her husband, Tony, of Sinking Springs; and two great-grandchildren, Dalton Smith and Antonia Pitruzzella. Aside from her husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, George and John Derov; and sisters, Mary, Martha, Helen, Anna, Julia and Stella. Visitation from 1 to 9 p.m. Friday at the RICHARD KUCERA FUNERAL HOME, 127 E. Fairview Ave., Connellsville. Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in St. John Roman Catholic Church. Interment in St. John Cemetery, Brookvale.
