Jack L. Thompson, 84, of Fountain Inn, SC, died Wednesday, December 2, 2015. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 8, 10:30am at Kennesaw First Baptist Church in Kennesaw, GA with Dr. Perry Fowler officiating. Burial will follow at 1:30 pm with military honors at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. Mr. Thompson served our country honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. After his service in the Navy, Jack was an established Baker for over 40 years. In his spare time, Jack was an avid golfer; served his community as a Scoutmaster with the Boys Scouts of America; and was an active member of the Greenville Elks Lodge #858 where he served as a trustee. Survivors include his wife of 59 years Ann S. Thompson of Fountain Inn, SC; son Dan and his wife Brenda Thompson of Kennesaw; daughter Leslie and her husband Mickey Stachowski of Robbinsville, NJ; grandsons Jeremy and his wife Ellen Thompson, Joey and his wife Alyssa Thompson, Connor Stachowski, granddaughter Chandler Stachowski, great granddaughter Ashlyn Thompson and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday from 68pm at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greenville Elks Lodge #858, 7700 Pelham Rd Greenville, SC 29615 in memory of Jack L. Thompson.
