Vernon V. Baker, 84, passed away Friday, Oct. 23, 2015. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Wednesday in Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Greenwood. Vernon was born Oct. 12, 1931, in Sherman to Vergil and Mae Thompson. He attended Arlington Heights High School in Fort Worth and attended college at TCU and SMU. He worked for Arco Oil in Houston as a draftsman and supervisor for 30 years. Survivors: Family and many friends.
