ANTHONY "ACE" MACERA
MACERA, ANTHONY "ACE" 84 - of Chelsea Heights NJ passed away peacefully on July 26, 2013 in ARMC Mainland hospital. Ace was born and spent most of his life in South Philadelphia. He played in the Air Force band as a Staff Sergeant during the Korean War. After leaving the Air Force he wrote music, played the piano, flute, clarinet, and saxophone. Ace owned and operated a barbershop in South Philly with his lifelong friend John Landi. He played his instruments in South Philly and in the Mike Pedicin band in the casinos in Atlantic City. He had a heart of gold and was always willing to give advice. Most of all Ace had a great love and affection for his wife Rita of 63 years., his grandchildren and dog Stewie. He is survived by his wife Rita, grandchildren Louie Macera (Terry), Lori Reynolds (Michael), Chelsea Macera (Jason) and Anthony Macera Great grandchildren Gianna Macera, Michael, Tommy and Julianna Reynolds and his loving daughter-in-laws Ann Macera and Gail Macera and many nieces nephews and close friends. He is pre deceased by his two sisters Lucy Ditomasso and Rita Vinci. Relatives and friends are invited to attend at St Elizabeth Seton Church, 591 New Jersey Ave., Absecon, NJ on Tuesday July 30, 2013 with viewing from 9:00 am to 10:30am with Mass following at 11:00am. Interment with follow at Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery, Estelle Manor. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Wimberg Funeral Home, 211 Great Creek Rd., Galloway Twp., NJ (609-641-0001).
