Billy J. Whitt MARION, Va. Billy J. Whitt, age 55, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013. He was a very loving father and friend. He had a very kind heart and loved his family dearly. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death by his father, David Wolfe; and his mother, Freda Whitt, both of Marion; and his loving grandparents, Jim and Louise Whitt. Survivors include his wife, Patty Whitt, Roanoke, Va.; one daughter, Jamie Whitt, Roanoke; one son, Adam Whitt, Marion; his step-children, Kenny Waddell, Marion, and Candy Ryan, Roanoke; his grandchildren, Taylor Moody, Roanoke, and Ryan and Chase Waddell, Marion; two aunts, Mary Geneva Brown, who mothered him like her own son, Marion, and Mary Caroline Whitt Ratliff, who he called his sister, Chilhowie, Va.; very special cousins, Cindy Brewer, Marion, Randy Brewer, Forrest, Va., Ronnie Brown, Goodview, Va., Earnie Brown, Atkins, Va., and Matt Whitt, Meadowview, Va. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, from the Bradley's Funeral Home Chapel in Marion, with Pastor Shawn Womack officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
