In memory of
Clemente Moralez
Clemente Moralez, 96, of Doña Ana, New Mexico, entered eternal life Saturday, January 19, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 23, 1916 in Berino to Sixto and Andrea Moralez. Clemente devoted his life to his family. He was a humble man that treated everyone he met with respect, and everyone who knew him respected him as well. Clemente took life seriously but had a lighter side to him; he enjoyed playing the slots machines on his trips to Las Vegas, Nevada and later on to Ruidoso when he was not able to travel far. He loved the outdoors and was a true sportsman, making the outdoors his life and presented the outdoors to his family as a gift of life. Work hard, play hard was his motto. Hunting, fishing, outdoor sports, working in the fields, and getting his hands dirty were his trademark. If you didn't see him coming, you would certainly hear him; his John Deere (Popping John) was his trademark. He drove his tractor well into his '80's until his body told him to slow down. He slowed down but never stopped. Clemente will be missed greatly but never forgotten. He is survived by his loving wife of 77 years, Ramona "Mona" Moralez of the family home; his twelve children, Jose, Clemente Jr. and wife Maria, Ernest and companion Soledad, Richard, Orlando and wife Mary, Dolores De La O and husband Tommy all of Doña Ana, Gloria Abeyta and husband Guadalupe, Enedina Sanchez and husband Larry, Minerva Moralez-Martinez and husband David all of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Virginia Vargas and husband Phil (Filiberto) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Alice Long and husband Mike of Rochester, Michigan, Dora Trejo and husband Orlando of Deming, New Mexico; two granddaughters he raised as his own, Patricia Charles of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Diane McDaniel and husband Ron of Woodward, Oklahoma; two sisters, Nicolasa Mercado of Doña Ana, Mela Page of Yuba City, California. Other survivors include 23 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 4 great great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation for Mr. Moralez will begin at 10 a.m., Thursday, January 24, 2013 in Our Lady of Purification Catholic Church, 5525 Cristo Rey in Doña Ana where the Prayer Vigil is scheduled for 11 a.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated immediately thereafter with Reverend Narciso Rivera officiating. Cremation will follow and Inurnment of Cremains will take place at a later date. Serving as casket bearers will be Sammy Vargas, Andy, Ricky and Tony Moralez, Omar Sanchez and Tyler Long. Honorary bearers will be Phillip Moralez, Johsum Sanchez, Montana and Brian Moralez, and Andre Coca.
