DABBS, BOYD GREY Age 75, of Concord, Alabama, passed April 19, 2012. He was a member of the Rock Creek Church of God, Bessemer, AL. Mr. Dabbs loved the Lord, his church, his family, his friends and his community. Mr. Dabbs graduated with the Hueytown High School Class of 1955, served proudly and honorably in the United States Navy, and worked and retired from Koppers, Inc. (formerly Woodard Iron Co.) in the By-products Plant. Visitation will be at Rock Creek Church of God, 1001 Park Road, Bessemer, AL on Monday, April 23, 2012 from 10:00 until 11:00 AM. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM at the Church. Rev. Wayne Absher officiating. Burial will follow at Concord Baptist Cemetery, 5951 Warrior River Road, Bessemer, AL. Mr. Dabbs was preceded in death by his father Harvey Jackson Dabbs, mother Verlon Lee (Granny) Dabbs, brother Jackson Vinson Dabbs and sister Hilda Gene Cargile (Lamar). His is survived by his wife Barbara Ann Dabbs, son Mark A. Dabbs, Hueytown, AL, daughters Pamela A. White (Michael), Oak Grove, AL and Bonnie Marie Burrage (Wade), McCalla, AL, and sisters Dorothy (Dot) D. Brown, Concord, AL and Myrtice D. Mills (Clint), Concord, AL. Eight grandchildren Jesse Dabbs, Matthew Dabbs, Chelsie Manderson (David), Thomas White, Sarah White, Randy Burrage, Charlene Mullenix (Dustin), William (Sam) Burrage, and eight great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite heart and lung charity.
