Edith Lucille Collins Clark Mason, the daughter of the late Leah Clark and Joseph Collins was born on September 24, 1920 in Harlem Hospital, New York City. She went to Jamaica at the age of 5 after the death of her mother to live with her grandparents, John and Kate Clark. She returned to the United States during her teen years to complete her education at Wadleigh High School and to reside with her aunt, Mary Clark who later adopted her. Edith also attended Kingsboro Community College. Edith and Justin were united in holy matrimony on June 25, 1947. From this union they had two children, Samuel Alfonso Mason and Hope Lucille Mason Rodriguez. Hope is married to Francisco Alfonso Rodriguez and they have two sons Nili and Malcolm. Edith was a faithful wife and mother. She leaves to cherish the memories, her beloved husband Justin; her son Samuel; her daughter Hope; her son-in-law Francisco, two grandsons Nili and Malcolm; niece Janice; nephew Ernest and family of The Bronx, NY; cousins Mavis Wilson of Riviera Beach, FL; Vyris Clark, Quince and Delroy Wilson of Jamaica and their families; and a host of other relatives, friends and church family.
