Elizabeth Carey Griffin Elizabeth A. Carey Griffin, 82, Laguna Woods, Calif., died July 10, 2009, in her home surrounded by family. Elizabeth was born in Mobridge Hospital July 16, 1926. She grew up and enjoyed life in Mobridge, S.D. At age 17, she went to Washington, D.C., to work in the Pentagon during WWII. On her return, she attended the University of South Dakota where she met Bill Griffin. They were married in 1948 in Mitchell, S.D. They lived for thirty years in Bismarck where they raised their three children. In 1987, they retired to Laguna Woods, where they enjoyed golf, swimming, dancing and many friends. Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Grace Griffin, Seattle; her son, Michael Griffin and Lise Levi, Boston; three granddaughters, Caitlin Oliverius, Hannah Oliverius, Jane Oliverius and their father, Tom Oliverius; and by her sister, Sister Brigid M.
