Ivan Peterson Ivan Peterson, age 80, a resident of Erie passed away Saturday September 6, 2008 at Millcreek Community Hospital. Ivan was born on April 24,1928 in Rachel, W.Va. the son of the late Peter and Anne Evans Peterson. A longtime resident of Erie, Ivan was a member of the Russian Orthodox Church of the Nativity where he was very active in their services and special functions. He served as a Cross Bearer on over a hundred funeral services at the church. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers; Alex and Charles Peterson. Ivan is survived by a brother Harry Peterson of Delray Beach, Fla. and a sister Kathleen Busha of Pittsburgh, Pa. Also surviving are many cousins, nieces and nephews along with his church family. Friends are invited to call at the Russian Orthodox Church of the Nativity, 251 East Front St. Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and are invited to attend Funeral Services there Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. John the Divine Cemetery.
