Darrell Delane Franklin
Darrell Delane Franklin, age 71, of Oppelo, Arkansas, passed away Monday, January 8, 2018. He was born March 20, 1946 in Atkins, Arkansas, a son of Doyle Franklin and Stella McGee Franklin. He was an Army Vietnam Veteran, post commander from 2015 to 2016 for the American Legion Post # 39, and Honorary Kiwanian. Darrell received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and a Sharpshooter Award. He retired after 27 years with Mobley Contractor. He is survived by his wife, Patti Lienhart Franklin of Oppelo; two sons, Bradley Franklin of Austin, Texas and Jacob Franklin of Greenbrier; mother, Stella Franklin of Hattieville; sister, Linda Rackley of Jerusalem; and brothers, Leland (Julia Mae) Franklin of Hector, Bobby (Betty) Franklin of Chester, Arkansas, and Billy Franklin of Hattieville. Vigil service will be 6:00 p.m. Thursday with visitation following, at the funeral home. Funeral mass will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 12, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Monsignor Jack Harris officiating. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Capital Campaign.
