William Thomas IV
William Thomas IV of Denham Springs, La, passed away at the age of 51 on Sunday, September 3, 2017, after a struggle with heart disease. His family had the awesome privilege of being at his side when he passed from this life to the next. Will was born in Fort Knox, KY on March 1, 1966. He grew up in Homer, Louisiana, where he was involved in sports and the family furniture business. Will "Lucky" Thomas was a 1985 graduate of Claiborne Academy. He was a member of the school's 1981 state championship football team. After graduation, he moved to Denham Springs, Louisiana, where he started his own small business, "Will Thomas Enterprises" specializing in a wide range of services including pet care, lawn maintenance, and furniture repair. After the 2016 flood in south Louisiana impacted his business, Will went to work as vice president of corporate compliance for "Big Networks", an IT company in Baton Rouge. Will enjoyed art and drew many wonderful drawings for his friends and family. He was an organ donor, a constant supporter of military veterans and enjoyed volunteering for the Red Cross.
Will's family are thankful for the blessing of two more weeks with him made possible by the remarkable medical team of Drs. Sapna Desai, Hamang Patel, and Selim Krim and the incredibly compassionate care of the nursing staff of the Cardiac Medical ICU of the New Orleans Ochsner Hospital. Will is survived by his mother and step father Janie and Gerald Rainey, his father and step mother William III and C. A. Thomas, his brother Smith Thomas, his brother and sister in law Lance and Jaci Thomas, his nephew Jackson Thomas, a special friend Caroline Stafford, aunts and uncles-Gayle and Frank McLavy, James E. "Jack" and Kaye Jackson, Mary and Dr. Harry Woodall, cousins-Ted Wadsworth, Renee Wadsworth, James E. "Peck" Jackson, Travis McLavy, David Jackson, Ashley Parker, Olivia Parker and Jane Ashley Parker. He was preceded in death by grandparents James E. "Peck" and Monita Jackson and William, Jr. and Dorothy Thomas.
Visitation will be at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs from 6:30 -8:30 on Tuesday September 5 and again on Wednesday, September 6 from noon until 2:00 services at First United Methodist Church in Denham Springs to be conducted by the Rev. Dan Krutz. Pallbearers will be Frank McLavy, Ted Wadsworth, Greg Parker, Darrell Cooper, Will Robbins, Jeff Williams, Smith Thomas and Lance Thomas.
