Courtney Diane McKenney
Courtney Diane McKenney, age 16, of Atlanta, IN died June 27, 2015 at Methodist Hospital, from injuries suffered in an auto accident. She was born September 6, 1998 at Noblesville, IN to Bryan Travis McKenney and Julie Ann (Killmon) Martin. Courtney had just completed her sophomore year at Hamilton Heights High School and was looking forward to her junior year. Her family related that she had a great sense of humor, loved to dance and had just enjoyed going to her prom. She liked to do arts, crafts and listen to country and R&B music. She loved all animals, especially horses and was planning to be a horse trainer. At times she would wear western clothing and cowboy boots as she rode and cared for horses. She was a volunteer at the Humane Society for Hamilton County. Survivors include her father and mother, a brother: James McKenney of Anderson, IN and a sister: Katie McKenney of Atlanta, IN, grandparents: Charlotte McKenney, James and Diana Killmon, great-grandmother: Dorothy Gilliam and step-father: Luke Tevis. A sister, Alicia McKenney and her grandfather, William McKenney preceded her in death. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel, 209 West Jackson Street, Cicero, IN 46034. Pastor Gary Streeval and Pastor Andy Marshall will officiate at private funeral services that will be held at a later date.
