Dorothy M. Miller
Mrs. Dorothy Mae (Wolfe) Miller, 83, of 11629 Orchard Road, Waynesboro, PA, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2012 in Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown, MD. She had been in failing health for the past year and critically ill for the last week. Born May 15, 1929 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Harvey J. and M. Almeda (Misner) Wolfe. She was a lifelong resident of the Waynesboro area living with her grandparents in Quincy, PA while she attended school. Mrs. Miller was a graduate of Quincy High School with the Class of 1947. She and her husband of 62 years, Walter J. Miller, were married June 3, 1950. They had lived at their present residence for over 50 years. Mrs. Miller was a homemaker. She was a member of Church of the Apostles, United Church of Christ, Waynesboro. Mrs. Miller enjoyed golfing in Myrtle Beach, crocheting, doing yard work and tending to her flower gardens. She also loved serving her Lord. In addition to her husband who is currently a resident of the Village of Laurel Run, Fayetteville, PA, she is survived by her sister, D. Evaline "Evie" Cook and her husband, John of Waynesboro; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, M. Ordean Wolfe; and two nephews, Dana E. Burns and Dirk G. Burns. Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, December 13, 2012 in the Church of the Apostles, United Church Christ of Christ, 336 Barnett Avenue, Waynesboro, with the Rev. Michael Cromer officiating. Burial will follow in Quincy Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Church of the Apostles, United Church Christ of Christ, 336 Barnett Avenue, Waynesboro PA 17268.
