Virginia Belle Rush
Virginia Belle Priest Rush, 86, of Bunner Ridge passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2015. She was born in Marion County on December 9, 1928 a daughter of the late Nolen Gibson Priest and Mary Molly (Rush) Priest.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Wesley Rush, Sr. on March 27, 1991. The couple were married in 1947.
Virginia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved being a homemaker, cooking, baking and watching the children. She enjoyed playing cards, camping, traveling and telling stories. Most of all Virginia loved raising her large, wonderful family. She was a member of the Mt. Nebo Church of Christ.
She is survived by her children, four sons, Charles W. "Sonnie" Rush, Jr. and his wife Margie of New York, Russell Rush and his wife Karin of Ohio, Raymond Rush of Ohio and Donald Rush of Arizona; three daughters, Wilma Biddle and her husband Garry of Fairmont, Kay Bunner and her husband Frankie of Bunner Ridge and Carol Huffman and her husband Frank, with whom Virginia made her home, of Bunner Ridge; 70 plus grandchildren and great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Also surviving is her sister, Lena Simmons of Atlanta Georgia; three sisters-in-law, Gerrie Priest, Mary Priest and LouBelle Priest; a son-in-law Tom Shorter and several caring nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Virginia was preceded in death by a daughter Elsie Shorter; a grandson, Timmy Sutton; three brothers, Floyd Priest, John Priest and Charles Priest; and a sister, Darlene Rush.
Friends and Family may call at the Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street on Monday from 1pm to 9pm and Tuesday 11am to 1pm.
The funeral service will be at 1pm on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 with Minister Norman Floyd officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Nebo Cemetery.
