In memory of
Marie K. Wilson (nee Krupski), age 103, of Lorain, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2011 at Elmcroft Senior Living Center while under the care of New Life Hospice.
Born on February 14, 1908 in Hizzi, Russia to the late Sergei and Yedockey Krupski, she came to America in 1916. She lived in Monessen, Pennsylvania before coming to Lorain in 1919.
She worked at Singer Sewing Machine Company until 1942 as a sewing teacher and then later as a bookkeeper. Prior to 1933, she also worked for her first husband's construction business as a bookkeeper.
Marie was a faithful and active member of Zion Lutheran Church, Lorain, since 1923. She had attended services every Sunday for 84 years straight, never missing a Sunday. She belonged to the Ladies Aid of the church, Lutheran Missionary League, had served on the Building Committee for the church as the secretary for the committee, and was a former president of Lutheran Missionary Society.
She was a charter member of Lakeland Women's Club and had volunteered for 22 years at the former Lorain Community Hospital.
Marie is survived by her daughters, Lena Vandia, of Parma and Clare (Philip) Zudell, of Lorain; 6 grandchilden; 15 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Fannie Charles, of New Port Beach, CA and Eleanor Potocnik, of Dayton.
She was preceded in death by her first husband of 10 years, August Ryll in 1933, her second husband of 41 years, Robert Wilson, in 1984; son, Earl Ryll; her step-daughter, Lois Jean Wagner; her granddaughter, Marcia Birney; her brothers, Charles Krupski and Dr. John Krupski; and her sister, Ann Atanasoff.
The family will receive friends on Friday, December 30, 2011 from 4-7 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in Zion Lutheran Church, 5100 Ashland Ave., Lorain. Rev. Gary Georgi will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
