Agnes Mae Stadnick
Agnes M. Stadnick, 75, of Grinnell, died on Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at Grinnell Health Care Center. A memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m., Monday, August 25, 2015, at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell with Michael Hargrave, associate pastor of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Marshalltown, officiating. Inurnment will be at Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell. The family will be present at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. on Monday. Memorials may be directed to the Agnes Stadnick Memorial Fund and sent in care of the Smith Funeral Home, P.O. Box 368, Grinnell, Iowa 50112. Agnes was born on July 6, 1940, near Grinnell, Iowa to Lester and Beulah Matherly Harris. She was raised in a large family of five brothers and one sister. She enjoyed spending time with her siblings and talking about their futures. She received her education in Grinnell and graduated from Grinnell High School with the Class of 1958. Following her education, she enjoyed traveling and during that time she met her significant other, Joseph E. Stadnick. The couple married in 1966 in a small family ceremony and to this union was born three children, Cynthia, Jeffrey and John. She loved her children very much and was there for them every step of the way. She also enjoyed helping others. Agnes was a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked for Community Nursing in Marshalltown as well as other health care facilities. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan and enjoyed passing time on her I-pad and doing puzzles. Agnes was a woman of love, compassion and loyalty. She will be missed by many but her legacy will be carried on for generations. Survivors include her children, Cynthia Stadnick of Grinnell, Jeffrey (Val) Stadnick of Marshalltown and John (Renee) Stadnick of Pflugerville, Texas; nine grandchildren, Natasha, Ryan, David, Maegann, Andrew, Emma, Ava, Noah and Jonah; one great grandson, Breyton; four brothers, Ray, Bill, Bob and Ronnie Harris; and one sister, Perry Ann Hinshaw. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Stephen Harris; one nephew, Mike Harris; and one great nephew, Tyler Harris.
